Your Responsibilities

- Drive the transition from project-specific design towards modular and reusable engineering solutions.
- Identify opportunities to standardise machine components, designs and engineering practices.
- Make better use of existing engineering knowledge and product experience within the organisation.
- Support the implementation and/or optimisation of PDM/PLM systems.
- Establish a more structured approach to engineering data, documentation and design reuse.
- Coach and motivate experienced engineers through changes in methodology and culture.
- Provide technical direction and challenge engineering decisions when required.
- Bridge different generations, experiences and engineering approaches within the team.
- Work closely with production, work preparation, purchasing, assembly and service.
- Help establish a sustainable engineering structure that can continue to develop after the initial transformation period.
What You Bring to the Position
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Building, Industrial Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
- Significant experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within custom machinery, industrial equipment or engineered-to-order environments.
- Strong technical credibility and the ability to challenge and support experienced engineers on an engineering level.
- Experience leading, mentoring or managing engineering teams.
- Experience improving engineering processes, standards or methodologies.
- Practical experience with PDM and/or PLM systems.
- A strong understanding of standardisation, modular design, design reuse and engineering efficiency.
- The ability to lead change while respecting existing technical knowledge and experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach and the ability to operate effectively in an SME environment.
