Azure Software Architect / Technical Lead | .NET & Cloud Modernisation • Lead architectural direction across a major international insurance organisation • Shape engineering practices across teams in Dublin, London and Bermuda • Drive cloud modernisation, microservices and AI adoption in an Azure-first environment We are looking for an experienced Azure Software Architect / Technical Lead to join the technology organisation of a major international insurance business operating across Dublin, London and Bermuda. This is an opportunity for a hands-on technical leader to play a key role in transforming a complex legacy technology estate into a modern, scalable, cloud-native environment. You’ll help define software architecture, establish engineering standards and shape how development teams design, build and deliver software. Working closely with the Head of Software, Head of QA and Enterprise Architect, you’ll provide technical direction across engineering teams, bridging the gap between architectural vision and practical implementation. This is a development-focused leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys influencing technical decisions, mentoring engineers and driving better ways of working without moving into traditional people management. The organisation is heavily invested in Microsoft Azure, with a strong focus on Azure Functions, orchestration, microservices and distributed systems. You’ll also help explore and embed AI capabilities into the software development lifecycle and enterprise applications. What You’ll Do • Define and evolve software architecture, design patterns and engineering standards • Lead the modernisation of legacy platforms towards scalable, cloud-native Azure solutions • Guide the design and implementation of microservices, APIs and distributed systems • Apply your Azure expertise across Functions, orchestration and cloud-based application development • Champion modern software engineering practices, code quality and effective development workflows • Identify opportunities to integrate AI into development processes and enterprise applications • Provide hands-on technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to software engineers • Collaborate with Software, QA and Enterprise Architecture leadership to align technical decisions with business needs What We’re Looking For • Experience as a Software Architect, Azure Architect, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, Lead Software Engineer or in a similar senior technical role • Strong commercial experience designing and building solutions within Microsoft Azure • Solid knowledge of Azure Functions, orchestration, microservices and distributed architecture • Experience leading software modernisation, legacy transformation or cloud migration initiatives Salary & Benefits • Up to €110,000 base salary • Up to 25% performance bonus + more benefits • Dublin or London • Approximately quarterly travel to London If you’re an Azure-focused Software Architect, Technical Lead or Principal Engineer looking to influence engineering direction, modernise complex platforms and shape cloud architecture across an international organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
